Truly a great film - I highly recommend a read of the five Ripley books (“the Ripliad”) as well. Great summer reads!

A favorite film of mine. And perhaps the first time I became aware of Philip Seymour Hoffman as an actor, though I had seen him on stage before that, without knowing it.

I remember him in SCENT OF A WOMAN (“Hoo-Ahh!!!”) playing one of the entitled private school kids.

I loved this so much! The Talented Mr Ripley is one of my favorite movies and this was such an immersive read. Marge Sherwood's style is my ideal summer vibe. You've inspired me to fix myself an Americano tonight and pretend I'm an idle rich young person summering in Italy without a care in the world.

Thank you, Anna, and you've got the right idea about an Americano and dreaming of Italia.

All that sex in a glass in that movie! It still gives me the creeps when in the sailboat PSH says “ Tommy, Tommy, Tommy.” Shivers and needs a campari and orange.

There are a lot of great lines/quotes in the picture but PSH's "Tommy, Tommy, Tommy..." is just perfect (and perfectly creepy).

Thanks, Rebecca! I know at least two people who fired up the movie this week because of this dispatch.
