Loved your authenticity here, Brad. Life is hard for everyone, even the incredibly interesting, creative, uber-funny and “successful “. I’m happy you took the break!! Glad you put one foot in front of the other and dug in. Go Knicks and Go BTP 🧡💙

Cheers to you, Brad, and enjoy the next 10 days or so. The calendar seems to be getting eaten up by big gulps these days and we’re guaranteed nothing, especially when it comes to sports fandom (notes the Oilers and Blue Jays fan). All the best!

Heck yeah we missed ya! But it's been nice trading messages with you during these NBA Finals, both hoping our respective teams make it in...and would ya look at that - it's the 1999 Finals rematch we've both been hoping for!! My Spurs aren't much of anything, living out here in Las Vegas, but it sure was fun to be back home in San Antonio this past weekend to watch them come back from 3-2 to beat OKC in Games 6 and 7. The city was insane and fun to watch. And we just happened to stumble upon the end of James Talerico's kick-off rally (to hopefully win John Cornyn's seat), which he ended with, "Go Spurs Go"! My siblings and I were in town to celebrate our dad's 103rd birthday. Way back when he was only 101, the Spurs organization invited he and a few other WWII veterans to a home game where they led them out onto the court before the game and introduced each veteran to the world. They even presented dad with his very own Spurs jersey with his name on the back, and the number 101.

I feel for you and all Knicks fans, as I know all too well the feeling of getting so close only to lose it all. Even during our "dynasty" years when we won in 2003, 2005, and 2007, everybody on the planet but Spurs fans talked about how dull the Spurs were, how old our players were.

1999 was the Spurs' 1st championship (and I got married the very next day, as if already partying wasn't enough), but this ain't 1999 and basketball today ain't basketball 1999. The court will be taken by guys who've never been to a Finals, and many who had never been in the playoffs until this year. Both teams are where they are meant to be and both teams are extremely talented and fun to watch. This is going to be an exciting Finals! No matter who wins or loses, let's have fun watching and bantering.

Great effort putting in the work to take care of yourself, and Enzo, and typing away to finish your book. We're all looking forward to 'Drinking Italian'!!

Go Brad!

Go Spurs Go!

Good luck, Knicks! (those Knicks garlic knots though, look damn good)

Thank you for your kind and generous words, Pablo! It's been fun to check in with you during the playoffs and now the Finals. I suspect this is going to be a drawn-out bout, but thrilled the Knicks stole Game 1 on the road. Friday's another day, though...

Have been thinking about you and hoping all was well. Glad to hear it is and that you've had the nose to the grindstone as an explanation for the time away. You've got this.
