Join Me at Caffe Dante's "The Aperitivo Hour"
The “Brad Corner” Wednesday Residency Is in Session
“The Aperitivo Hour” at Caffe Dante
Tomorrow on Wednesday, January 17, New York’s Caffe Dante (the No. 1 Best Bar in North America, 2019 & 2020) is kicking off a month-long “Aperitivo Hour” featuring a lineup of low-ABV and non-alcoholic aperitivo-style drinks to aid you in your Damp January reset for the new year, and beyond.
Inspired by Italy’s historic aperitivo culture, the special “The Aperitivo Hour” menu will feature a number of Dante Classics like their signature house Garibaldi, along with some low-ABV cocktails from celebrated Italian bars such as Bar Basso (they’ll even be serving a Negroni Sbagliato in the bar’s iconic oversized goblet) and Camparino in Galleria (and yes, their ice-cold Campari Seltz will be served in its signature footed, beveled glass). The non-alcoholic options include a Cosmojito, Blood Orange Spritz, an Espresso Shakerato, and more spirit-free options.
And you can’t have an aperitivo drink without a little spuntini, so Dante will offer a special menu with snacks available for purchase—from arancini and anchovies to a deluxe salumi board to 30-month old Parmigiano & Balsamic inspired by chef Massimo Bottura.
“The Aperitivo Hour” will only be available at Caffe Dante (79-81 MacDougal St, New York, NY 10012) Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. from Wednesday, January 17 through Thursday, February 15. The featured “Aperitivo Hour” drinks will be priced at $15.00, Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
And to give back through this initiative, $1.00 from every item sold will be donated to Refettorio Harlem, Massimo Bottura’s non-profit organization, which aims to prevent food waste and nourish the New York community with good food, social well-being, and dignity.
The “Brad Corner” Wednesday Residency
As many of you might know, I’ve been a longtime regular at Caffe Dante and usually post up at the bar at my favorite corner seat on Friday late afternoons, which they like to call the “Brad Corner.” Thanks to the team and Caffe Dante and Campari, I’ll be hosting “The Aperitivo Hour” from my favorite corner perch each Wednesday (1/17 - 2/14, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and I’m inviting you to join me for this “Brad Corner” Wednesday Residency.
Each Wednesday I’ll be at Caffe Dante, where all of my books (Bitters, Amaro, Last Call, and Distillery Cats) will all be available to purchase and have signed by yours truly. This is my first in-person signing of the year and I believe the first time where all my books have been available together.
And if you buy a book you’ll also receive a free bambino-sized Bicicletta—one of my favorite drinks at Dante—that’s served on draft with “violent carbonation” and composed of Campari, dry Italian wine, and S.Pellegrino.
Beyond the books, you’ll have a chance to hang out in the “Brad Corner” where I can walk you through the menu and all the terrific drinks, talk about some of the featured Italian bars, discuss bitters and amari, and my love of Italian drinking culture. Plus, each week I’ll be bringing in some “suitcase bottles” and other special pours from my personal collection to sample.
I hope to see you there!
