Welcome back to Dive Bar Jukebox, where every Friday bartenders, writers, chefs, musicians, and a host of dynamic people answer the question: If we were hanging out at a bar together and I put ten credits on the jukebox, what songs would you punch in and why? Their answers reveal thoughts on their favorite dive bars along with a hand-picked, annotated 10-song playlist for your weekend listening pleasure.
Today’s special guest is Georgia Fulton, a longtime member of the team at Brooklyn’s beloved Long Island Bar. If you’ve ever been to Long Island Bar you’ve likely seen Fulton welcoming guests, ferrying a tray of Boulevardiers, or adding a final garnish to a cocktail at the service bar. She’s also the woman behind the bar’s terrific playlists, which always seem especially tuned in to the particular vibe of the room. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve busted out the Shazam app on my phone to cop whatever cool, new-to-me song is playing on the speakers to add to my own playlists.
